London Summer - Entry 2

Hello Everyone,

I have been in London for 1 week and it has been an amazing experience so far, and I am so excited to see what the next 2 weeks has to offer. I have spent the past week exploring Lacock Abby, Salisbury Cathedral, and many other beautiful places. I loved getting to the small town of Lacock because it all looked like it was from an old movie. While in Lacock, I got to see some of the sites used for filming a number of Harry Potter scenes such as the potions room and Harry Potter's parents' house. Our class got to see "Comedy of Errors" at Shakespeare's Globe which was hilarious, entertaining, and a little emotional at the end. 

Lacock Abby - 06/09/2023
This was taken outside Lacock Abbey, and I was drawn to it because of the symmetry of the two staircases which enter into the abbey. 

Salisbury Cathedral - 06/10/2023
The Cathedral tour was the highlight of my day because of the amazing and intricate architecture. I chose this photo because of the unique angle. I like how you can see the stained glass. I also think the height of the structure is emphasized as the photo was taken looking up towards the ceiling. 

Lacock Abbey - 06/09/2023
This is another image taken at Lacock Abbey which I was drawn to because of the lovely symmetry. The ceilings of the abbey were so different from places I'm used to seeing. 

Lacock Church - 06/09/2023
This was taken outside Lacock church, and I was drawn to it because of the medieval European architecture style. I feel like I was transported back in time when I got to walk through these old structures. 

Salisbury Cathedral - 06/10/2023
This was taken outside of Salisbury's Cathedral, and I personally love it because just from the photo you can see the unreal height and intricacy of the structure. For me, it was an amazing sight, one which does not fully translate to a photo.

Rose Gardens Regent Park - 06/11/2023
During my walk through Regents Park, I got the chance to capture this lovely photo of some roses. The entire Garden smelled like flowers!

Lacock - 06/09/2023
During our walk around Lacock, we saw many beautiful homes and shops. This one stood out to me because of the gorgeous flowers and plants growing around it. 

I have loved my time in London, and I can't wait to share more photos with all of you!

    Hi Cordelia, let me just say all of these photos are great and would love to see you put them in your portfolio. I love how you were able to capture different angles of designs of The Abbey, Salisburys Cathedral, and it really shows us the beautiful European architecture. Within the 'best of' photos the one that stood out the most to me was the home/shop with the window and the beautiful flowers and vines growing around it. I believe this photo could definitely be a potential photo in your portfolio as well. Because it shows the unique style and loveliness of what the little Lacock Abbey town has to offer.

Hello Everyone, We have made it halfway through week 3, the final week of our study abroad trip. We have gotten to explore so many great places this week like Oxford, Loosely Gardens, and Tate Modern. While in Oxford, we got to see a play based off the book "The Ocean at The End of the Lane." It was so different than the other plays we've seen so far, and I loved it. The story was engaging and unique, I loved the ending, even though it was sad.  Here are some possible portfolio options! London Eye - 06/20/2023  This was taken during our night photography class, and I love the vibrant colors of the Eye, and I like how the trees look over the colors.  St Paul Cathedral - 06/20/2023 While we were walking towards Tate Modern, I got the chance to take this shot of the statue in front of the Cathedral. London Summer - Entry 1

Hello Everyone, I have officially been in London for 4 days and it has been unreal. We got the opportunity to explore the Tower of London, Brunswick Centre, the British Museum, and a theatre on the west end along with so many other amazing attractions. My personal favorite would have to be the time I spent at the Tower of London. The Beefeater who guided our tour was hilarious and a great storyteller and I loved learning about the history of the tower. Below are some of my favorite photos that I got to take during my travels.  Street art tour - Graffiti Tunnel - 06/05/2023 I wanted to capture an angle where the tunnel follows a line into the light.  Spitalfields Market - 06/05/2023 This was taken during our time exploring Spitalfields Market. I like this image as it implements the concept of using lines to lead the eyes down the street.  Along the River Thames - 06/05/2023 Exploring the attractions along the river Thames such as Big Ben and the London Eye was surreal. London Summer - Entry 4

 Hello Everyone, We have officially made it through week 2 of study abroad, one more to go! This week flew by, we got to explore the Kew Gardens, House of Dreams, and Blenheim Palace among so many other great locations. We also got to see the Circus which was such a treat as I haven't been to the circus in a long time. Here are some photo choices for my final portfolio.  Neal's Yard - 06/13/2023 Taken during our time in Neal's Yard. I love the vibrant colors of the building and flowers.  Blenheim Palace - 06/17/2023 This was taken while experimenting with Manual Mode. I like how it captures the water shotting up from the fountain. The colors of the Palace are beautiful behind the gardens.  Streets of Cotswolds - 06/17/2023 This was taken during our walk through the Cotswolds. I loved seeing all the gorgeous flowers. Among the different types were these Lavenders. I love this picture because of the vibrant Purple color and how the flowers fill the frame.  Royal Pavillion - 0
